CRICKET TEAM OF THE MINISTRY OF MASS MEDIA AND INFORMATION IS AMONG THE BEST 16 TEAMS OF THE PUBLIC SERVICE SPORTS TOURNAMENT FOR THE FIRST TIME……..

For the first time, the Cricket Team of the Ministry of Mass Media and Information was successful at the “Public Service Cricket Tournament”, the Mega Cricket Festival of Public Sector by entering into the third round and listing among the best 16 Cricket Teams out of 84 nos. of teams played.

As per the instructions of Sri Lanka Public Service Sports Club, the tournament was held on 10th & 11th of November 2008 at the Shalika Grounds, Narahenpita. The sports club of Government Press organized the event.

Several numbers of well experienced and competent cricket teams were played at this tournament and it is significant that the Cricket Team of the Ministry of Mass Media & Information has just completed its first anniversary.

The Cricket Teams of Ceylon Electricity Board in Negombo and Ministry of Education Isurupaya were beaten by the Mass Media Cricket Team.

Prasad Batugahage scored 66 at the three matches participated and 04 wickets were taken by Ashoka Kumara who got the highest number of wickets.
