Minister Alagiyawanna, addressing the media at the Government Information Department Auditorium, yesterday said that one of the main issues that will be addressed through this project would be the traffic congestion in Colombo. He said that main government institutions and other key institutions will be shifted out from the Colombo city as a solution to the problem.

The foundation stone will be laid on January 30 to relocate the Manning market at Peliyagoda. The fish market was shifted out to Peliyagoda a few years ago.

According to Deputy Minister Alagiyawanna, the SLFP is ahead of the UNP and ruled the country for more years than the UNP. There are 85 SLFP MPs in Parliament. The UNP has only 84 MPs, he said. After the Presidential Election 2015, no SLFPer was attacked. When late Anura Bandaranaike contested from the UNP ticket, Prime Minister Sirimavo Bandaranaike went to the polling booth by a wheel chair and voted for the SLFP led coalition. She loved her party, he said.

All SLFP leaders will work together to win the upcoming Local Government polls, Minister Alagiyawanna said.
