The observation was made while speaking at the ‘Deli Pihiyen Kiri Kema’ dialogue which was held at the BMICH this morning. The Minister also went on to say sometimes the reports do publish articles with something that is diametrically opposite to what he said or mentioned.

Karunathilaka also pointed out the need to establish a new institute in Sri Lanka where ‘professional’ journalists can be trained. “During the PM’s China visit, this would also be discussed in a bid to get financial aid,” he added.

The Minister also appreciated the effort of TV Derana to organize the dialogue ‘Deli Pihiyen Kiri Kema’ which commenced this morning with the main topic ‘Challenges for the modern journalist’.
