Ten new lorries and 20 crew cabs, valued at approximately 590 million rupees (59 Crores), were added to the Sri Lanka Post transport network today.
The program was held at the Postal Headquarters under the patronage of the Minister of Health and Mass Media, with the aim of further enhancing the efficiency of the postal transport service.
In conjunction with this, a pilot project to distribute bicycle carriers (delivery boxes) for postal officers' motorcycles was also launched.
Provided under the 2025 Budget allocations, these new vehicles will be utilized to ensure the fast and reliable island-wide delivery of all postal items, including COD (Cash on Delivery) and SLP Courier services.
This is regarded as a significant step towards creating a modern, efficient, and people-centric postal service
