The State Vesak Festival for the Buddhist Era (B.E.) 2570, falling in the year 2026, will commence on May 27 at the Midellawela Purana Viharaya in Tihagoda, Matara, under the patronage of the President. This was stated by the Minister of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs, Dr. Hiniduma Sunil Senevi.
